Problem Description:
When adding solar and battery wires to the controller the connectors need to be tightened in the correct manner and the correct screw driver needs to be used. Forcing the screws in the wrong direction and using the incorrect screwdriver will strip the screws as well as damage the connections if forced in the incorrect direction.
Examples:
Screwdriver.
The screwdriver used needs to be the correct size. It is a number two driver, but the tip needs to have a wide base to properly make contact with the screw and prevent stripping the screw. Do not use #2 reduced diameter drivers.
Note the screwdriver on the left in the left image is to narrow and will strip the screw when force is added. The one on the right will not strip the screw. It has to be narrow enough to fit in the hole but wide enough to make proper contact with the screw.
Instructions for adding wires to terminal connectors.
First loosen the screw by turning the screw counter clockwise Loosen to the point where you can see the lower section of the connector drop to the bottom of the connector.
Note: Only turn screw counterclockwise forcing it clockwise may damage the connector.
Place the wire in the hole then turn the screw clockwise to tighten the wire. This will raise the lower portion of the connector to hold the wire in place.
